“The sun illuminates only the eye of the man,
but shines into the eye and the heart of the child.”
- Ralph Waldo Emerson
Succinct. To the point.
True.
These are some of the
words I would use to describe the verbal expressions of a child. Favorite
utterances I’ve heard from little loved ones of my own include:
“I love you. I done.
Peace Out.”—Could there be a more thorough farewell?
“Because, too.”—Is there
a better way to explain, that which cannot be explained?
Recently, when I was developing some pieces for an art show, I found myself bringing images of
children to the forefront—and evidently, some of my concerns as well.
Perhaps, I felt they
could say it best.
