If you’ve ever read my posts
or articles, you’re probably aware that much of my creativity is inspired by
the natural world and my family heritage. This piece, crafted earlier in the
season and featured in the current edition of Somerset Life, is further evidence of that fact.
Like so many of my creations
this year, this one contains subtle references to holidays past--those filled
with white divinity candy and inky black mincemeat . . . and the present season
too-- one suffused with gray winter skies and white tipped wings. There are few
days one doesn’t see delicate feathers floating, like autumn’s spent leaves,
swirling, then landing, upon the dark, moist ground.
